I was about 7 years old when I was first introduced to New Life Assembly. This was a few years after my parents had divorced. At this time, and in the years following, as I was growing up, I fought with hurt and feelings of guilt and confusion. The members of the church gave to me God’s unconditional, unselfish love and acceptance.

After a short while I received the Holy Ghost and was baptized in Jesus name. I had always had low self-esteem and sometimes hated who I was. I struggled with this even after being a part of the church, but the body of Christ lifted me up and gave me support through my valleys.

When I was weak, this church was my strength. Each individual member, in their own way (many times without even realizing) ministered to my needs. Through the church I have been delivered from fear of people, especially authority, and I have learned to trust people, without fear that they would hurt me.

Here, in the church, I met a wonderful man, who is now my husband. We were privileged to be married with assurance that the whole church stood behind us, in support of our union.

God has blessed my life so much that I cannot tell it all. I am certain that if the arms of the church hadn’t reached out to me when they did, my life would have been destroyed.
